Terms of service
Effective 4 September 2026. Between Sommary ("we") and the business using Sommary ("you").
1. The service
Sommary is software for running a restaurant's beverage programme: inventory, costs, pricing, purchasing, receiving and the wine list, on the web at sommary.ai and in the Sommary iOS app. It is provided to businesses. Staff use it under the business's account.
2. Accounts and shared devices
The business owner is responsible for who has access, including a phone or tablet that stays signed in behind the bar. Sessions can be revoked from any signed-in device, and the owner should revoke a device that is lost. Keep your password to yourself; we never ask for it.
3. Your data
Everything you enter belongs to you. We use it only to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy. You can export your list and your inventory at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account or your business.
4. Acceptable use
Do not use Sommary to store data you have no right to hold, to attack the service or other tenants, or to reverse-engineer the service beyond what the law allows. We may suspend an account that does.
5. Prices, suggestions and integrations
Suggested prices, comparable listings and reorder suggestions are estimates from the data available to us. They are advice, not a guarantee, and the decision to price, pour, order or list a wine is yours. Integrations with third-party systems such as Toast run on your own credentials with that provider, under that provider's terms.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the service up and to tell you before planned maintenance, but it is provided as is, without a warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Keep your own records of what matters to you.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
8. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Sommary at any time and ask for your data to be deleted. We can end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a breach of section 4. On ending, your data is deleted on the schedule in the privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and material changes are announced to account owners by email before they take effect.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of New York, United States.
